Description Sandy McArthur 2002-04-30 18:10:23 UTC
Achim,
The autofs package depends on "ldap? ( ~net-nds/openldap-1.2 )". I get an
unsatisfyied dep error when I try to emerge autofs with ldap in my USE. Changing
the DEPEND line to "ldap? ( >=net-nds/openldap-1.2 )" compiled find for me. I
have not tested if the resulting code works as I don't currently have an LDAP
server to use to test autofs againsts. I figured I'd run this by you before just
making the change.

On a simimar note I noticed that the openldap ebuils aren't slotted, should they be?

You are correct that the ebuild finishes when you change the ~ to a >= but ldap
support is not compiled in. For some reason it is not detecting ldap_init to be
supported. I have an email sent to the autofs developer asking what the status
is of OpenLDAP 2.x support. I'd much rather use an official fix than start
hacking in my own. If the author does not have an official fix then I'll get to
patching. :) Watch this bug for updated info soon.

There is a new net-fs/autofs-3.1.7-r4. I have patched it for OpenLDAP 2.x
support . It is currently masked in profiles/package.mask. Please test and
report if it works properly.

autofs-3.1.7-r4 has been unmasked. OpenLDAP-2.x support appears to be
functional.
