The problem: After trying to emerge openoffice in a different language, you notice that the "program" directory hasn't been generated in "/opt/OpenOffice-1.0.3/". I didn't notice anything strange while he was emergeing. The problem is floating around a while on the forums but I couldn't find any matching bug. (if there is one excuse me for the dupe) The only solution I could find on the forums was: "don't compile with the LANGUAGE parameter". Do you for any chance use a binary openoffice? In that case there is a problem that the files have the same modification date, and as such are removed by portage. If you unmerge first, and then only merge it should be solved. I will backport the fix from the beta2 ebuild to 1.0.3
No, I don't use the binary version. I am now using the english version (merged perfectly). I will try to unmerge OO and reemerge it with the language parameter after syncing the tree. I 'll let you know how it works out.
It didn't do the job. Nothing has changed. After unmerging openoffice en reemergin it with the LANGUAGE flag. I have the fealing that everything is compiled fine but some files weren't copied. The ebuild didn't give any warning. Hope I did the right things. (Or do I have to try the beta ebuild?)
I'm getting this same problem with the latest build (1.1_rc), and despite the fact that I didn't set a language, or have the openoffice-bin installed, I get exactly the same problem
Is this still a problem with 1.1.0?
No everything is now ok
Ok, I'll close it then
