Description Markus Wernig 2008-04-10 07:09:44 UTC
After upgrading the kernel to 2.6.25-rc8 and doing a emerge -Duv world, the ipw2200 driver fails to load with modprobe (error: Invalid argument).
The reason is /etc/modules.d/ipw2200, which suddenly contains a syntax error:

options ipw2200 rtap_iface=1 hwcrypto=1, associate=1 bt_coexist=1

The colon after "hwcrypto=1" does not belong there. I definitely do not remember putting it there.
Unfortunately, I don't have a version of the file before the upgrade to diff.
After removing the colon, everything works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Please check which package owns /etc/modules.d/ipw2200 (`emerge portage-utils && qfile /etc/modules.d/ipw2200`) and reopen this bug.
