Description David J Cozatt 2008-04-08 01:05:52 UTC
image is stage3-2006.0 still using the vserver profile. when I first synced the tree
I had to generate digests initially Then had to set ARCH="~x86"
in profile once latest portage installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.install is stage3-2006.0 still using the vserver profile into a hosted vm
2.emerge --sync generate needed digests to get "emerge portage" to work.
3.emerge gentoolkit and run glsa-check -f affected.

Actual Results:
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/autoconf-2.61-r1/work/autoconf-2

post the full build log as an attachment instead of as a comment. comments destroy the output.

you'll also have to go into the build dir and execute:
./testsuite -v >& log

and then post the log file as an attachment

err testsuite.

Running with no ARCH set in make.conf and so far it is installing.
But willing to ~x86. The vm is mine to play with at present. And
nothing important on it. Had to recreate this as I had installed CentOS
on it. I'll leave it like this a few days.

Try `/bin/uname --help' for more information.

Problem with the testsuite?
Comment 7 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2008-04-13 22:07:49 UTC
no, those errors are normal
Comment 8 David J Cozatt 2008-04-14 00:05:55 UTC
yes ;) I understand they don't exist.
However
vm / # /usr/bin/arch -k
i686

did return something besides 'unknown'
and the 'uname -X' was an invalid option that preceded it
Comment 9 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2008-04-14 02:47:04 UTC
the output from those commands are irrelevant ... error or not

this error shouldnt have happened:
+./configure: line 1652: echo: write error: Broken pipe

post the output of `emerge bash -pv`
Comment 10 David J Cozatt 2008-04-14 09:46:10 UTC
vm / # emerge bash -pv

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Not sure the status of this but for me at least is no longer an issue and can be closed.
Moved on from the profile long ago
Comment 13 David J Cozatt 2010-08-09 21:41:33 UTC
no longer using this image stage3-2006.0 This was and afaik is still the
image provided in co-lo/vps situations the last time I used those services
for gentoo vps and installs.

If your using this image feel free to re-open.
