please reassign, doesn't seem to be a directly gnome related compile error and besides that we have never touched this ebuild. Reporter please give 'emerge info' output, maybe it's the compiler you are using.

I experienced exactly the same compilation errors. I also noticed the following errors during the configuration step: ... Searching for arrayobject.h ./configure: line 7893: test: too many arguments arrayobject.h location: /usr/include/python2.2/Numeric/ /usr/include/python2.2/numarray/ ./configure: line 7899: test: /usr/include/python2.2/Numeric/: binary operator expected ./configure: line 2: /usr/include/python2.2/numarray/: is a directory ... I have indeed both numeric and numarray installed, and expected this to cause the problem. After unmerging numarray and remerging numeric, scigraphica-0.8.0-r1 emerged without problem. (I checked again with numarray installed, and the problem reappeared). Running scigraphica still produces a segfault, though (but that's another bug).
