Description François Valenduc 2008-02-24 15:57:06 UTC
When I want to emerge subversion, apr is emerged as a dependency and fails to compile. The last error is the folowing:

libtool: compile: unable to infer tagged configuration
libtool: compile: specify a tag with `--tag'
make[1]: *** [passwd/apr_getpass.lo] Erreur 1
make[1]: *** Attente des tâches non terminées....
make[1]: quittant le répertoire « /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/apr-1.2.12/work/apr-1.2.12 »
make: *** [all-recursive] Erreur 1
 *
 * ERROR: dev-libs/apr-1.2.12 failed.
 * Call stack:
 *               ebuild.sh, line   49:  Called src_compile
 * environment, line 2526: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 *       emake || die "Make failed";
 *  The die message:
 *   Make failed

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Try to emerge subversion
2. Wait for apr failing to compile
3.

build log for apr

The problem is exactly the same for apr-1.2.11.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-24 16:04:44 UTC
Re-emerge libtool.
Comment 3 François Valenduc 2008-02-24 17:15:34 UTC
Indeed, re-emerging libtool solved the problem. Can you explain why this is necessary ?
