From the homepage: "This software helps you add a little more security to your desktop. It does so by detecting one of your bluetooth devices, most likely your mobile phone, and keeping track of its distance. If you move away from your computer and the distance is above a certain level (no measurement in meters is possible) for a given time, it automatically locks your desktop (or starts any other shell command you want). Once away your computer awaits its master back - if you are nearer than a given level for a set time your computer unlocks magically without any interaction (or starts any other shell command you want). You find a selection of links on the left where Installation is the one you should start with. Screenshots will be included soon." Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Gain a desire to use this package 2. Do a portage search and find it not there 3. Go to homepage and check for ebuild that doesn't exist Actual Results: I was left feeling empty and alone with nowhere else to turn. Expected Results: A joyous occasion where hoards of people run rampant through the streets. Or possibly just the ability to "emerge bluproximity -a" would suffice.
I'm not a maintainer, but I'd be happy to attempt to create an ebuild if someone is willing to look it over and possibly put it in portage?
Created attachment 149208 [details] x11-apps/blueproximity-1.2.5.ebuild I have created an ebuild for the blueproximity. Any additions are welcome.
What else does it take to get this into portage? I'd really like to be able to emerge this thing :) -Chad
I have been using the attached ebuild without any problems.
I have made a few minor modifications to Pavel's ebuild and it is available in my overlay: git://git.danweeks.net/doctaweeks.git Overlay info can be fetched from: http://danweeks.net/overlays.xml
I have also been benefiting from this ebuild (by placing in /usr/local/portage), would like to see it in the tree.
