Description Stefan de Konink 2008-01-24 08:46:23 UTC
Looking at my memory usage it seems that the current 'stable' version of hald has serious memoryleaks. I'll investigate if this is also the case for the not yet unmasked 0.5.10 version.

4429 haldaemo 20 0 170m 167m 2524 S 0.0 11.0 5:18.58 hald

...while at start up it is only a fraction of that number.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-24 09:12:53 UTC
Uhm... memory being used != memory leak. See http://valgrind.org/docs/manual/quick-start.html

Also emerge --info is missing.
Comment 2 Stefan de Konink 2008-01-24 09:28:25 UTC
emerge --info is not going to tell anything about a memoryleak, 170MB of RAM usage is unacceptable for a service which starts at about 700kb.

Maybe it is solved in a newer version that is still masked and I am installing now.
