Description Anders Bach Madsen 2008-01-14 12:51:07 UTC
This ebuild is for the Boost Build V2 system and newer then the one included in boost-1.34.1 package.
This ebuild is modelled after the boost-build-1.34.1.ebuild but uses the 2.0-m12 boost build from sourceforge.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

It compiles fine and is at the moment more up to date then the boost build included in boost-1.34.1.

hmm, and does dev-libs/boost build with it?

The following line is wrong, since boost-build is unslotted and only one version of dev-libs/boost-build can be installed at the time... But it should block for boost-versions earlier than boost-1.34 since it collides with boost-1.33.x ...
DEPEND="!<dev-libs/boost-build-1.34.1"

Comment 3 Anders Bach Madsen 2008-01-14 15:28:33 UTC
#1
To compile dev-libs/boost with my version of boost-build I had to change the ebuild for dev-libs/boost a bit.

DEPEND="icu? ( >=dev-libs/icu-3.2 )
                sys-libs/zlib
                >=dev-util/boost-build-${PV}"           <--

With this little change (I know, that this is not the propper way to do it!) dev-libs/boost compiles, installs and works just fine on my system. Emerge --info is included below.

#2
Sorry, I over looked that line :) I will upload a revised version, so it blocks dev-libs/boost < 1.33.x.

Hi,
  I am not sure if this problem as same as mine, I do hit on ~amd64:

[ebuild     U ] dev-libs/boost-1.34.1-r2 [1.33.1-r1] USE="-debug -doc -icu -pyste -tools% (-bcp%) (-bjam%) (-threads%*) (-threadsonly%)" 12,689 kB
[ebuild  N    ] dev-util/boost-build-1.34.1  USE="python" 0 kB
[blocks B     ] <dev-libs/boost-1.34.0 (is blocking dev-util/boost-build-1.34.1)
Comment 7 Sebastian Glita 2008-02-15 13:29:21 UTC
I had a problem, but taht solved it
Comment 8 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2014-12-11 07:41:45 UTC
dev-util/boost-build was introduced long time ago, closing this as FIXED
