I believe ftp.is.co.za used to be an official portage mirror. We used to be able to mirror from rsync1.us.gentoo.org, at least. We now receive a "connection refused" message: I'm unsure if this is a general problem, or if it means the mirror status has been revoked. I'm presuming the latter. I've just cleaned up a disk space problem that would have meant our mirror was out of date. If this was the problem, please can you re-enable us? I've just fixed this, and are now temporarily mirroring from the dynamic rsync.gentoo.org address. storeroom.is.co.za is the machine responsible for mirroring: it mirrors to an NFS share that ftp.is.co.za then serves from. If you thus allow us access once more, please allow us connections from storeroom.is.co.za, rather than ftp.is.co.za. If I'm mistaken about ftp.is.co.za being an official mirror, please let me know! Thanks! Oskar Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. ftp.is.co.za = 196.4.160.12, storeroom.is.co.za = 196.4.160.77
196.4.160.77 doesn't seem to be configured properly. Can you review "How to Mirror Gentoo - Rsync" (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml) and post back after you've updated/verified the configuration? Thanks.
Any updates?
Hi At the moment is.co.za can't provide an rsync server to the general world, and are thus not eligible for access to the official rsync server itself. All is thus fine, and I'm going to close this ticket; Thanks very much for the help! Oskar
