Description Guido Winkelmann 2007-05-26 13:31:42 UTC
kde-base/arts-3.5.5 crashes on startup with the error message "bus error" on an ultrasparc machine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run "artsd" in commandline
Actual Results:
The error message "bus error" appears, the program terminates

Expected Results:
artsd should fork into background and keep running

The crash happens with artsd -a alsa, artsd -a oss, artsd -a none, artsd -A, but not with artsd -h

As the KDE team has little interest on ARTS and there's little that can be done by downstream, I suggest you take this to KDE. If you open a bug there about this issue, please leave a link here.
