Description Federico Corradi 2007-05-13 14:13:29 UTC
I have installed the new vm ibm-jdk-bin-1.5.0.4-r1 and I select with eselect the ibm-jdk-bin-1.5 java browser plugin. I use Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux ppc; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070512 Firefox/2.0.0.3. of course I compiled it with java support.

all the time I load a java applet mozilla crashes.

I have gcc-4.1.2 & glibc-2.5 on a kernel 2.6.21

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
on a ppc machine (I have an I book g4 1.33Ghz)
1.emerge ibm-jdk-bin-1.5.0.4 (USE=nsplugin)
2.emerge mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.3 (USE=java)
3.load some java applet on your browser (ex. www.time.gov) and it crashes

is ibm-jdk-bin the only way to have java working on a ppc machine? where can I find other plugins that work with mozilla-firex?

Sorry for no reply so far. Please reopen if that still happens in current version of ibm-jdk-bin and mozilla-firefox.
