Description Rajiv Aaron Manglani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-15 23:27:36 UTC
[I--] [ ] media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.3.3 (0)
[I--] [ ] media-sound/audacious-1.3.2 (0)

cannot play mp3 or ogg network streams. the application crashes with:

GThread-ERROR **: file gthread-posix.c: line 171 (): error 'Device or resource busy' during 'pthread_mutex_destroy ((pthread_mutex_t *) mutex)'

consistently happens on systems with 2.4 kernels and linuxthreads.

this patch can be applied against audacious-plugins-1.3.3 and fixes the problem:

Curious. The mp3 stream http://141.217.119.35:8000/ works fine here with 1.3.3, but a 2.6 kernel.

I would suggest posting the output of emerge --info for the dev/maintainer who will see this.

Cheers.

Yes, I'm fairly sure that this is an isolated incident, only applicable to machines on 2.4 kernels. We have this patched upstream, and are planning to do a 1.3.4 roll-up before we get our summer of code students hammering away at the 1.4 branch.
If anyone besides Rajiv is affected by this bug, you will want to comment here so I know that a 1.3.3-r1 plugin release has merit.
Assigning bug to correct developer.
Comment 3 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-04 11:14:52 UTC
This is in the 1.3.4 plugins release.
Comment 4 Rajiv Aaron Manglani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-06 17:40:03 UTC
tested, fixed. thanks!
