i'm using gentoo-sources and can't get my ide cdrom drive working, since i switched to 2.6.20:

i'm reporting this here and not upstream, because they insist on ONLY using their bugzilla, if one is using either vanilla or mm sources and no binary (kernel tainting) drivers, like the nvidia driver. maybe you guys can enlighten me somewhat here.

Stupid question: did you enable scsi cdrom support?
That abnormal stuff dmesg spews doesn't mean anything. I use SATA (all working) and I get:

no, i don't have scsi cdrom support turned on. adding it right now. i'm really confused about this scsi/sata/pata stuff. it's a mess.
