Using the 1.4_rc2 Live CD I installed KDE and OpenOffice, I noticed that OpenOffice listed N packages to install, however when it finished only about half were installed. I re-ran the script and it installed the remianing packages. I then retried the KDE install twice before all packages were installed. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.Get to step 15 of the install instructions. 2.CD into GRP. 3.Type sh grp-install.sh kde-list.txt. The script will run and install some number less than the actual number of packages (for example 25 of 50). 4.Script exits successfully. 5.Enter the sh command again. The installtion will start saying that there are X (the remaining number of packages not installed, in the example it would say 25) packages to install and the some of them will be installed. 6.For KDE I had to run the script one more time to get all installed. Actual Results: KDE and OpenOffice were installed correctly. Expected Results: Install all packages on the first script run. Hardware - CPU: i686 700MHz Memory: 128Mb physical Memory: 128Mb swap Drive: installing on a 4Gb partition. CD: Plexwriter 12/10/32A . . .and just for the heck of it. . . Video card: Nvidia RIVA TNT
We've deprecated this script due to it being buggy. 1.4 final will have this functionality built-in to portage, and it will work.
