kstars 0.9.1 (KDE 3.1.0) is assuming that the system clock is UTC instead of local time. There doesn't appear to be an option to change this behavior. To see what I'm talking about start kstars and press Ctrl-G to bring up a list of locations. Select Phoenix, Arizona and click OK. In the upper left corner of the display will be a field that starts with LT:. This means local time. kstars has taken the UTC offset in the Ctrl-G window and applied it to the system clock in order to derive the local time (this assumes that the system's clock is set to UTC). There should be an option in kstars to say "System time is local time" to adjust accordingly.
Nevermind. I can't reproduce this now.
since you can't reproduce (and me neither), I'll close this. If you can reproduce it anytime, it should be reported at bugs.kde.org ;)
