Description Anssi 2007-01-18 08:53:22 UTC
Radeonfb patch for new radeon mobility cards ie. x700 should be included in the genpatches ( at least 2.6.18-series kernel ) so the framebuffer works also in newer laptops.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Include radeonfb support in kernel
2. recompile kernel and install
3. assign kernel command line option "video=radeonfb:1280x800"
4. reboot
Actual Results:
Framebuffer will not kick in.

Expected Results:
Framebuffer should be activated with 1280x800 resolution

I installed patch over gentoo-sources-2.6.18-r6 and it applied cleanly, tested it with my laptop ( Acer aspire 5021WLMi, ati radeon x700 with RV410 chipset ) and framebuffer works now.
