Despite what's said over here: http://farragut.flameeyes.is-a-geek.org/articles/2006/11/30/is-it-alsa-or-hellsa the 1.0.13 alsa-driver package compiled fine for me (it must have, since I have the module loading and sound working, and it's not built into my kernel), yet neither 1.0.14_rc1 or 1.0.14_rc2 compile. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Be running on suspend2-sources 2.6.19 2. Try to compile alsa-driver 1.0.14_rc1/2 Expected Results: It compiles.

suspend2-sources is not a supported kernel; reopen if you can reproduce with a supported one... http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-kernel.xml#doc_chap2
Seems to be fixed in 2.6.19-r1.
