Description Bart Koppe 2006-11-11 02:06:29 UTC
I cannot boot the AMD64 livedvd/cd (tried both)
i used gentoo-nofb and also tried to add idle=poll and nousb
It was no problem to boot and install from the x86 livecd, but then it's not 64bits i guess (newbie on this, was used to use a ppc laptop..)

The last message gentoo-nofb give before it stops loading is 'io schedular cfq registered'

Thanks!

I have the same problem with the LiveCD (2006.1 and prior),
but it seems nobody else does...

FYI, minimal-installer worked for me. Have a try.

For me in the end it helped to boot with acpi=off !
Good luck..

Can you verify this with 2007.0?
Comment 5 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-08 19:44:07 UTC
Well, I cannot verify this and I've gotten no response. I'm going to assume that this is fixed in the 2008.0 Beta 1 release, since nobody else has reported this issue.
