after the lastest kdelibs update (which required to unemerge kde-env) amarok is looking for libraries (sound engines) into /usr/kde/3.5/lib/kde3 directory intead of /usr/lib/kde3 and causes amarok to crash. rebuilding amarok didn't solve the problem, i've solved it symlinking the needed libraries but there is something wrong here (amarok installed with the wrong prefix?)...
You either: - upgraded from 1.3; - installed amarok by hand; - installed amarok-svn from an outdated ebuild; - installed amarok from an unofficial ebuild. find /usr/kde -name \*amarok\*.la -print0 | xargs -0 rm will fix your issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148666 ***
nope, i had amarok-1.4.3-r1 installed from the official ebuild some people have the same problem: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-500708-highlight-.html
That doesn't change anything about this bug being a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148666 ***
ok, sorry i've understand very old .la files was causing the problem, but since i didn't have problems before the kdelibs update i thought the cause was the update itself... btw, i also have problems with kwallet not showing in the systray and kopete hanging when started, could it be related to .la files too? should i remove more of them?
Please, don't change the status of the bug.
