There is a bug in the scummvm engine that makes this demo crash during the intro scene playback.  The workaround is to hit ESC when the game starts to jump right into the action.  I have filed a bug upstream:

It turns out that this game is playable (contrary to what documentation online says).  Updating ebuild DESCRIPTION to reflect this.
