Description Malcolm Scott 2003-01-16 18:35:55 UTC
PINE has now been updated to version 4.53, and the old SRC_URI for 4.52 no
longer exists on their webserver. It looks like the ebuild can simply be copied
across if all the references to "pine4.52" in the SRC_URI are changed to
"pine4.53" (or, better, "${PN}${PV}").
Comment 1 Malcolm Scott 2003-01-16 18:54:02 UTC
Uh oh, why isn't anything ever simple? :-)

Copying the ebuild doesn't work, since the patches referred to in SRC_URI have
the same name as the patches for the previous version, so the ebuild will pick
up the OLD (4.52) patches from the Gentoo mirrors (and maybe also
/usr/portage/distfiles).

Is there a way round this?
Comment 2 Nick Hadaway 2003-01-17 18:36:54 UTC
pine-4.53 has been released into portage marked unstable. Please mark this bug verified if you have no further problems or reopen if there are issues with this new ebuild. Thanks.

Two issues:

1) No digest file! (At least, not on my mirror...)

2) Hmm, you've dropped the extra patches, presumably because of the issue I
mentioned in comment 1. What functionality would I lose by installing without
these patches?
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2003-01-18 05:42:21 UTC
1) The digest file is there... just rsync again and it should be there. :)
2) The patches are pre-applied on this package.
Happy pine-ing! haha

The digest file issue was my fault: I'd created my own temporary pine-4.53
ebuild - I removed this, but it had still been cached...

Thankfully, everything's now working :-) Thanks a lot for your help.
