After updating X11 to the newest stable version all the web-browsers are crashing by using flash. I have changed the 15 bits to 8 bits and to 24 bits color depth but it doesn't work. romek@mars ~ $ firefox No running windows found The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 89 error_code 8 request_code 147 minor_code 3) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) firefox-bin exited with non-zero status (1) mars ~ # emerge --info Portage 2.1-r1 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-3.4.6, glibc-2.3.6-r4, 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.15 ccache version 2.3 [disabled] app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5, 2.4.3-r1 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: 2.3 dev-util/confcache: 0.4.2-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r3 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -Os -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O2 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig candy distlocks fixpackages metadata-transfer parallel-fetch sandbox sfperms strict userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://src.gentoo.pl http://gentoo.zie.pg.gda.pl http://gentoo.prz.rzeszow.pl" LANG="pl_PL" LC_ALL="pl_PL" LDFLAGS="-W1,-2,now" LINGUAS="pl" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow X Xaw3d a52 aac aalib acl acpi alsa apache2 apm arts audiofile avi berkdb bidi bitmap-fonts bluetooth bonobo bootsplash bzip2 cdparanoia cdr clamav cli crypt cups curl dba dbus dlloader dri dvd dvdread eds emboss encode esd exif fam ffmpeg font-server foomaticdb fortran gd gdbm ggi gif glut gnokii gnome gphoto2 gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile hal idn imap imlib ipv6 irda isdnlog java jpeg kde lcms ldap libclamav libg++ libwww mad maildir mikmod mmx mng motif mozilla mp3 mpeg mplayer mysql nas ncurses nls nptl ogg opengl oss pam pcmcia pcre pdflib perl php png postgres pppd python qt qt3 qt4 quicktime readline reflection samba scanner sdl session slang spell spl sse sse2 ssl svga tcpd tetex theora tiff tlen truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb v4l vcd vhosts vorbis win32codecs xine xml xmms xorg xv xvid zlib elibc_glibc input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse kernel_linux linguas_pl userland_GNU video_cards_r128 video_cards_radeon" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
*** Bug 141874 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Try to use 24 bit colors for X (change in xorg.conf), it help me.
Nope, already running in that mode.
Yesterday I found the error. In was a mistake in xorg.conf.
Please write this mistake, maybe somebody help it.
Post what you did to resolve this before closing the bug please.
Earlier I tried to enable the transparency in Xorg (ver.<7.0). I forgot to remove some options in xorg.conf. After removing the options - in section "Device": Option "RenderAccel" "true" - and the section: Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Enable" EndSection there are no problems with flash pages in firefox and mozilla. Probably there are also no problems with seamonkoey.
