so what needs to be done here ? nothing ? great, keyword it, uNF
There's still this little buglet with FEATURES="stricter": This combination is generally discouraged. Try re-emerging the package: LDFLAGS='-Wl,-z,now' emerge glibc LAZY usr/lib/misc/glibc/pt_chown This is being discussed in bug #76210. It is not a regression though, as it's been present in all 2.3.6 packages.
x86 done
sparc stable.
Stable on amd64.
Hmm. We have glibc-2.4 stable on ppc. Should we still stabilize glibc-2.3.6-r4?
that would be good so i can cut other glibc-2.3.x ebuilds
Glibc-2.3.6-r4 fails a make check for me, but every other glibc did so too, so this is not a regression and probably the fault of my setup. I've done some emerging and general playing around with the new version and have no issues so far. Recommend stable on ppc. pluto / # emerge --info Portage 2.1-r1 (default-linux/ppc/ppc32/2006.0/G4, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.3.6-r4, 2.6.17-20060623 ppc) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.17-20060623 ppc 7455, altivec supported Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.4.3-r1 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r3 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r4 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="ppc" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=7400 -mtune=G4 -maltivec -mabi=altivec -pipe" CHOST="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=7400 -mtune=G4 -maltivec -mabi=altivec -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict test userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/gentoo/ http://pandemonium.tiscali.de/pub/gentoo/ http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" LANG="en_US.ISO-8859-1" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/overlays/local" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="ppc alsa altivec apm arts bash-completion bitmap-fonts bonobo bzip2 cdr cli crypt dlloader dri dvd eds emboss encode esd fbcon foomaticdb gdbm gif gpm gstreamer gtkhtml imlib ipv6 isdnlog jpeg kde libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl ogg oggvorbis opengl pam pcre pdflib perl pic png pppd python qt qt3 qt4 quicktime readline reflection ruby sdl session spell spl ssl tcpd truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode vorbis xinerama xml xmms xorg xv zlib elibc_glibc input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse input_devices_evdev kernel_linux userland_GNU video_cards_radeon" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS
Finally stable on ppc.
Reassigning back to toolchain as ppc is done.
The mips team doth annoint this bug with the Mark of Stability +1.
