Description Tobias Quinn 2002-03-27 08:29:47 UTC
Using gdm and the latest build of gnome, evolution from portage/cvs (no kde).
Evolution fails to start giving the error after a login/logout:

Cannot initialize the Ximian Evolution shell: Configuration Database not found

This can be resolved by placing /usr/bin/oaf-slay in the startup programs for
each users gnome. But, this means that it is not possible to use the System->New
Login feature as any evolution processes are killed when /usr/bin/oaf-slay is
executed.

Do you give oafd enouth time to die after closing evolution, and before loggin out ?
Comment 2 Tobias Quinn 2002-04-10 07:00:53 UTC
Hi, I'd forgotten about this as the oaf-slay in session startup fixes it but, I
do allow evolution to exit cleanly and give it some time (5 minutes) for oafd to
exit but it never does seem to exit cleanly....

fixed in latest ebuild?
I removed oaf-slay from my startup and everything seems to be working fine now...
