I had to run the CPAN setup script as I was being asked for my country repeatedly (upon my initial attempt), I then ran the build-modules (i think) that it tells you to run afterwards, I then did emerge -u perl and then ran perlcleaner reallyall. I then tried RT again only to come up against this. emerge -pv log_dispatch gives: [ebuild R ] dev-perl/log-dispatch-2.11 -minimal 0 kB I've tried re-emerging this and then running perlcleaner again before trying rt again. Finally here's emerge --info: Portage 2.0.54-r2 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.16-gentoo-r9 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.16-gentoo-r9 i686 AMD Duron(tm) Processor Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.4.2 dev-python/pycrypto: [Not Present] dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.12-r6 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i586-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i586 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=i586 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://mirrors.blueyonder.co.uk/mirrors/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="apache2 bash-completion bzip2 hardened mysql nptl pam perl python samba vhosts x86 userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: CTARGET, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
I've manually installed that perl module using CPAN, and RT has now decided to install. So there's a workaround for anyone else who runs into this.
version of www-apps/rt? 3.4.5 has >=dev-perl/log-dispatch-2.0 in RDEPEND
(In reply to comment #2) > version of www-apps/rt? 3.4.5 has >=dev-perl/log-dispatch-2.0 in RDEPEND > Sorry. Yes it is RT 3.4.5 That means it requires any log-dispatch greater than v2.0, right?
Please try with rt-3.6.0. Seems to work for me. If it's broken on your machine, there may be something wrong with your perl.
