Description Wayne Browning 2006-05-06 09:36:53 UTC
Sory I don't have any info from a screen capture to post with this bug report but it's kind of hard when the system keeps giving a fatal error at almost every attempt to install. The last 2 tries at different points of emergeing software. Once at partitioning the disk. I'm really intrested in trying you software but unfortunately as your message indicates on the installer errors, "in case you did something stupid", maybe that applies. I've tried your minimal install, no problems until I reboot the system then it doesn't recognize my ATI X700 graphics card and the xserver kicks out an error. Installed the ATI drivers, no help. I did notice that during the LiveCD boot it recognizes the card but unfortunatly as I said your installers, both the graphical and text based refuse to allow an installation on my system. Guess I'll have to wait until the next release! After over 1 week of trying and the last 2 days basically wasted I'll go back to Mepis or another system.

Totally dissapointed -

Unfortunately, Wayne, without any further information such as actual error messages, there's simply nothing we can do to assist you with these problems, or even ensure that they won't happen next release. We need information. We need actual errors, logs, anything that can be of use. Otherwise, this is just a complaint, and not a bug report. I'm sorry to hear that you went back to MEPIS. Perhaps if you feel like assisting us, then we can do something. Until then, I'm marking this as NEEDINFO.
