New ebuild for "weather." From the author: This command-line utility is intended to provide quick access to current weather conditions and forecasts. Presently, it is capable of returning data for localities throughout the USA by retrieving and formatting decoded METARs (Meteorological Aerodrome Reports) from NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and forecasts from the NWS (National Weather Service). The tool is written to function in the same spirit as other command-line informational utilities like cal(1), calendar(1) and dict(1). It can retrieve arbitrary weather data via specific command-line switches (station ID, city, state), or aliases can be configured system wide and on a per-user basis. http://fungi.yuggoth.org/weather/ I figured it would fit well in app-text/weather.

The same ebuild also works for the recently released 1.1 version. Just need to rename it to "weather-1.1.ebuild" 1.1 added some minor fixes and a large number of standard aliases to the included weatherrc file.
So, how does one find a maintainer for this? The submission has been sitting untouched for over a month. Am I not following proper procedure for getting new packages into Gentoo?
Yeah, and about thousand of others have been sitting here for over one year [1]... Sorry, you need to wait until someone picks this up. [1] http://tinyurl.com/m3dmq
Created attachment 322539 [details] weather-2.0.ebuild Wow, over 6 years on this one! I came across this weather tool earlier today and liked it, so I have written a refreshed ebuild for weather-2.0. Maybe there's hope yet, for finding a maintainer!
