did you accidently delete the src tree ? or run emerge glibc in another terminal ?
Comment 2 Peter Hyman 2006-03-30 11:27:22 UTC

No. The usual emerge -uD world run from a standalone. Only thing I can think is that I decided NOT to emerge gcc 3.4.5-r1 the other day and masked it. So, it would have been compiled by gcc 3.4.5. Let me know if there is another test I can do.
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-03-30 12:16:12 UTC
so if you re-run `emerge glibc` it'll fail the same way
Comment 4 Peter Hyman 2006-03-30 13:05:14 UTC
Just re-ran as suggested. This time, it went through. Don't ask why. Just did emerge -1u glibc. Ghost in the machine, probably. Strange. Closing
