Hello. I have the gentoo 2006.0 live cd. After booting (just hit enter) it starts to find hadrware. It gets to my Video and then it goes: video is ATI Technologies Inc. Rage 128 GL, using X(vesa) Server Monitor is.... using modes... Configuring OpenGL No OpenGL-capable card found. If you have a card that you know is supported ... and so on... Switching to xorg-x11 OpenGL Interface >>>Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache and here nothing happens. I don't know much about Linux so detailed info is preferred :)
Do you have a bash prompt after this? If not, does booting with 'nox' give you a prompt?

Would you please boot with "gentoo nox" and see if you get a prompt?

Is it possible to go straight to installation with the live CD without starting the graphical environment first?
That is what "gentoo nox" does. What other options did you try, exactly? I cannot help you if you do not give me information to assist you. Try: "gentoo-nofb nox nolapic noapic nosmp acpi=off"
Unfrotunately, without more information, there's not much that I can do. We have a new release coming out soon, perhaps you will have better luck with it.
