I get this message when I try to update libao to 0.8.6-r1:

emerge --sync did not solve this issue

Little correction: I am updating to libao 0.8.6-r2 not -r1.
Anyway the -r1 digest file is out of sync and so I can't update to 0.8.6-r2.
