Tha HAL package don't create fstab-sync by default, but if you compile this binary (fstab-sync) don't work, i don't found solution. COMPACT: The applet to mount drives try to mount hal devices as /etc/fstab entries. fstab-sync are broken.
i can't understand what you are trying to say. we don't use fstab-sync, you don't need to use it to have things automount.
