Description Martin Hierling 2006-01-25 04:49:55 UTC
Hi,

am running dnrd-2.17 on
Linux nyota 2.4.28-sparc-r3 #2 SMP Wed Dec 29 11:00:41 MET 2004 sparc64 sun4u TI UltraSparc IIe (Hummingbird) GNU/Linux

since

 # genlop dnrd
 * net-dns/dnrd
     Thu Nov 11 09:38:52 2004 --> net-dns/dnrd-2.17
 merged totally 1 ebuild.

I think you can safely add "~sparc" to the ebuild.

regards Martin

I'm getting some pretty bus errors used in proxy mode, like "dnrd -s your_dns_ip --debug=4" and then do a simple query like "host www.yahoo.com localhost" on the same machine.

As an added info 2.17 has been retired from the portage tree quite some time ago and i tested 2.20.1.

after updating to 2.2x i got the same... .2.1[78] is running fine.
Perhaps readd 2.18 to portage and mark it for sparc?

Versions prior to 2.19.1 have security bugs, sorry, can't help with that.
It should be easy to fix, it's probably a misalignment issue in the code, but i won't be looking into it since i lack time.
If you want to make a patch it would be welcome, but we won't be fixing it at the moment, so closing as LATER.
