See <URL:http://bugs.gentoo.org/> for instructions. The bug is not reproducible, so it is likely a hardware or OS problem. make[2]: *** [khotnewstuff.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdelibs-3.4.3/work/kdelibs-3.4.3/kn ewstuff' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdelibs-3.4.3/work/kdelibs-3.4.3' make: *** [all] Error 2 emerge info Portage 2.0.53 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.15-rc5 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.15-rc5 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) Processor Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i386-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-Os -march=i686 -pipe" CHOST="i386-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=i686 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/" LANG="it_IT.UTF-8" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow S3TC X acl acpi adns aim alsa antlr apache2 apm audiofile avi bitmap-fonts bluetooth bzip2 cairo cdr cdrom cross crypt cscope cups curl dbx dedicated devfs26 dga divx4linux doc dvb dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd evo exif expat faac faad fam fastcgi fbcon ffmpeg fftw flac flash foomaticdb fortran freetds gb gd gif gimp gimpprint gkrellm glade glut gmp gnome gnomedb gpm graphviz gs gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml iconv icq ide idn image imagemagick imap imlib innodb ipv6 jabber java jikes joystick jpeg jpeg2k kde ladcca latex lcms libg++ libgd libgda libwww lirc lm_sensors lzo lzw lzw-tiff mad maildir matroska mbox mbrola mcal md5sum memlimit mikmod mime ming mmx mng monkey mono motif mozcalendar mozilla mozp3p mozsvg mozxmlterm mp3 mpeg mpeg4 mpi mplayer msn mssql mysql ncurses nls nptl ntlm nvidia oav odbc offensive ogg oggvorbis ooo-kde openal opengl oscar oss pam pcre pda pdflib pear-db perl php physfs plotutils png postgres postgresql ppds prelude python qt quicktime readline rrdtool rtc samba sdk sdl serial sharedmem silc simplexml slp smartcard sms sndfile snmp sox spamassassin speedo speex spell spl sqlite sse ssl svg tcpd tga theora tidy tiff timidity tokenizer transcode truetype truetype-fonts type1 type1-fonts udev uim unicode usb uudeview v4l v4l2 vhosts videos vnc vorbis wmf wsconvert wxgtk1 wxwindows xchattext xemacs xfs xgetdefault xine xinerama xml xml2 xmms xosd xrandr xv xvid xvmc yahoo yv12 zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, MAKEOPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
Mostly like bad RAM, overheating CPU or other hardware problem - see Bug 20600. Is the issue reproducible = i.e., does it fail at *exactly* the same place every time?
