epplets-0.7-r1 has hard coded directories both in the ebuild and in the epplet source that breaks when user runs e >=0.16.8. This ebuild and included patch file fixes epplets so that it runs with the latest e (does not apply to 0.17). I know this is almost legacy stuff, but it has been bothering me. To maintainer, I would recommend leaving it permanently as ~x86 since it WILL conflict with epplets-0.7* and won't work for users who are using e16.7.x. Only tested on x86, but please add other platforms when tried. (if anyone still uses these!). HTH

Created attachment 72247 [details, diff] additional patch for e16.8 needed to correct hard coding errors in some epplet files and especially the epplet api.
Actually, I just looked at the cvs version of epplets, 0.8, and it contains patches and will work with either e 0.16.7x or 0.16.8x. In addition, cvs contains small code to allow one epplet to work with kernels 2.6x. Maintainer may wish to consider adding an epplets-0.8.9999.ebuild which would pull cvs just like enlightenment-0.16.9999 does. It would make the ebuild I submitted unnecessary.
5 months no action. I'm not a dev, so can't fix.
dead
i mentioned the issues here upstream and they've been fixed up and a 0.9 release made which is now in portage
