I can reproduce this. No idea if the Gnome or KDE side is violating fd.o standards here - or if it's due to a hole in the standard itself. Also on my box the applet doesn't show up, since there's no icon defined in the .desktop entry. Moreover as desktop-file-validate /usr/share/apps/kicker/applets/kworkraveapplet.desktop /usr/share/apps/kicker/applets/kworkraveapplet.desktop: error: required key "Type" not found /usr/share/apps/kicker/applets/kworkraveapplet.desktop: warning: the fields "Name" and "Comment" have the same value shows the .desktop entry is invalid.
Reporter, Can you reproduce this with workrave-1.8.3? KDE team, I'm afraid I can't be of much help here since I don't have a KDE system to test this out. Any suggestions? Any patches for the .desktop issue also welcome :)
No further feedback from the reporter.
