the fnord-1.9 has existed forever and fixes an mimetype handling, which did 
not fully work in 1.8 
 
i have been using 1.9 in production for a while now and can only recommend 
marking it stable (and removing the 1.8 ebuild)

there appears to be a bug in fnord-1.9...  
i withdraw my request - i'll come back to you as soon as i know more...
