page loading stops with: an error occurred while loading http://www.foo.org the process for the http://www.foo.org died unexpectedly. This happens on any website, I am not behind a proxy. The same website can work, and then not work, seems to be random. Sometimes images on the site won't load and a messagebox will appear with the same error message but the page continues loading. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.browse the web 2. 3. Actual Results: see above Expected Results: loaded the webpage konqueror 3.4.2-r1 from the gentoo packages
Does it happen with other browsers? With other versions of konqueror? Please post your emerge info.
Doesn't happen with other browsers but it has also happened with KMail once after I posted the bug. emerge info ---------------- <root@neopolis:mobtek>emerge --info Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.5-20050130, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.9 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.9 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r1, 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O -march=pentium4 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O -march=pentium4 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks fixpackages sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://mirror.isp.net.au/pub/gentoo/ http://mirror.isp.net.au/pub/gentoo/ ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/Gentoo ftp://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/gentoo-mirror/ http://gentoo.mirrors.easynews.com/linux/gentoo/" LANG="en_AU" LC_ALL="en_AU" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/home/mobtek/apps/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aalib accessibility alsa apm arts artswrappersuid avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt cups curl doc dvd dvdr dvdread eds emboss encode esd fam flac foomaticdb fortran gd gdbm gif gnome gphoto2 gpm gst gstreamer gtk gtk2 imagemagick imlib ipv6 jabber jpeg kde kdexdeltas libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mp3 mpeg mysql ncurses nls ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pda pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline real ruby samba scanner sdl slang spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd threads tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb vorbis wifi win32codecs x86 xine xinerama xml xml2 xmms xscreensaver xv zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS

try compiling one of the kioslave packages with debug useflag as a workaround.
Please reopen if this still a problem with kde-3.5.5 with info as to whether the step proposed in comment 4 helps or not.
