I have the same problem. Had to downgrade back to 8.12.10 to get direct rendering working.
I'm afraid that's an upstream issue I can't solve easly.
It seems (based on forum posts) that people are getting the direct rendering working if they use the ati installer instead of emerging the driver.
could you please try the r0 ebuild? (the r1 uses the rpm and the r0 the installer)
I tested the r0 build (contains wrong download link btw), but the result was the same, no direct rendering although Xorg.0.log reports it is enabled.
*** Bug 95836 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
please attach your xorg.conf and the X log export LIBGL_DEBUG=1 should probably help figuring out the issue.
the error was in the ebuild
Hopefully now is fixed, wait for 1h and please report if now is working as should
Seems to work now, thanks.
Yes, it's working now. Thanks for your time!
eventually fixed, I didn't notice the issue since that lib isn't necessary for the r300 ^^;
