"label at end of compund statement" errors occur

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge libgda
Actual Results:  
the compile process is aborted.

Expected Results:  
a fine compiled libgda

a diff for gcc 3.4 is posted here:

this fixes the problem and should be integrated into the portage tree

That fix didn't apply cleanly for me, so I wrote a new one from scratch...
Does the same thing basically.
