A simple KDE network monitor that show rx/tx LEDs of any network interface on a system tray icon Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created an attachment (id=53521) [details] kde-misc/knetstats-1.3.ebuild I dont sure If the ebuild works well so more testing is needed.
Does it anything, net-misc/knemo doesn't do? I'm inclined to dismiss it.
I saw net-misc/knemo and I think knetstats can be dismissed.
I could not agree with you. KNetStats is much simpler than KNemo and that's its biggest strength. It's small and simple, and it shows just that: a status of a network connection (with small statistics). Personally I use KNetStats and I find it quite suitable. It fills different niche that KNemo. If one needs simple network monitor, one can use KNetStats. If one needs more functionality, one can use KNemo. It's all about the choice. I even created my own ebuild and announced it in forums yesterday: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-311955.html As I am one of the translators of this program (Polish version, actually) I am quite interested in having it in Portage tree. I find the Genady's .ebuild file more versatile than my version, but I can take this small resposibility and update it everytime it's needed. Please reconsider inclusion of KNetStats 1.3 in Portage. Thanks!
