Description:   Opened: 2005-02-16 15:56 0000
There's a new version of wordpress out, version 1.5. It is very popular, and
should definitely be upgraded and brought out of .mask purgatory

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Wordpress requires:
* PHP 4.1 or greater
* MySQL 3.23.23 or greater
* The mod_rewrite Apache module
(from http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/)

A comprehensive installation guide:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Here's an upgrade guide:

Actually, considering the very involved upgrade path, I'd like to see this in
".mask purgatory" for a bit, and unmask once the crying over lost blogs dies
down ;) .

Is this ebuild going to be updated?

------- Comment #4 From Jesse Adelman 2005-03-29 12:15:19 0000 -------
Used this e-build, and works for me, but that is on a fresh install, not an
upgrade, FYI.

------- Comment #5 From emory stuart taylor 2005-03-29 19:18:43 0000 -------
i'm pretty sure that anyone upgrading will be careful since this is their
oh-so-precious blog, so I don't see it being a problem. Plus It's really not
bad. The ebuild works fine for me, so this is generally a good thing(tm) now.
Plus most people have already upgraded who already have wordpress, so I think
this ebuild is only going to affect new wordpressers, which is also a good
thing.

Me-too-ism enclosed. Whenever you guys can get this into portage, it would be
massively appreciated. And thanks again for your excellent work!! :)

I'd add a warning in an einfo to upgraders, though.

AFAIR it was nothing more than following these instructions to keep your old
theme:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrade_1.2_to_1.5

------- Comment #9 From Aaron Kulbe (RETIRED) 2005-05-21 17:31:09 0000 -------
