Description:   Opened: 2004-12-31 01:20 0000
I'm trying to re-build/re-install dev-lang/python-2.3.4, but fail to do so,
when it is in the step "Byte compiling python modules for python-2.3 ..":

Compiling /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/drv_libxml2.py ...
Compiling /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/libxml2.py ...
Compiling /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/libxslt.py ...
              [ ok ] * Byte compiling python modules for python-2.3 .. ...

This bug might be related to bug #50309 - however in bug #50309 comment #13
it's said, that the problem only happens when python is compiled with -O3. I'm
not using -O3.

Wrong. This bug is not about python but about egenix-mx-base. Dupe'ing it.
