removing those lines #cd ${S} #epatch ${FILESDIR}/stardict-gtk24.patch makes version bump work.... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
interesting, but not to us... don't assign bugs, let the bugwranglers handle it.
So how do i report things like that (new versions)? Or should i report it at all?

I would like attract gentoo developer's attention to Changelog (from version 2.4.2 to version 2.4.4. a bit edited): 2004.11.28 StarDict-2.4.4 (fine) released. sdcv-0.1(StarDict command line version) is out, developed by Evgeney Try to create .idx.oft file to speed up the interpretation of the .idx file. This feature is especially useful to sdcv. Mueller7 optimized. quick_eng-gre, quick_gre-eng dictionary encoding fix. Add Hanzi Master dictionary. zh_TW help document translation and a small bug fix. Fix bug: Move border of MeaningWin to the right end of stardict main window, stardict go to infinite cycle and hang up. 2004.2.19 StarDict-2.4.3 (laugh) released. Ukrainian translation, zh_TW translation, Slovak translation, Hungarian translation. New dictionaries: en-ru-bars, en-uk-auszi, provided by Volodymyr M. Lisivka. Few bug fixes and some new dictionares. So I think there is no necessity in retaining of new version (2.4.4) in masked state (~x86). Thank you for your attention.
someone take look my another submission http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73657
1. The attached ebuild works for me. 2. I think if we have stardict 2.4.2 stable then 2.4.4 should also be stable, due to small bug fixes most of which are cosmetical. See my previous post (#4). 3. Are there some reasons it is not still in portage? Thank you for your attention.
in portage now. thanks for your patience.
