Description:   Opened: 2004-11-01 08:02 0000
According to my newly updated portage, the XHTML DTD blocks gtk-doc and vice
versa. I was wondering how that is possible? Why would a DTD -- a _standard_
DTD, no less -- block a package? What does gtk-doc care about a bunch of text
files in /usr/share/sgml?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.

OK, see Bug 33843. It

OK, see Bug 33843. It´s blocked b/c someone reported that it allegedly breaks
things, like in Bug 32542, but that bug was fixed in another way, so I don´t
see the reason either.

Someone should reopen Bug 33843 and mark this one as duplicate of that bug.
This should finally be solved. Blocking is not a solution. :-(

Carsten and Mike - does this need readdressing?

Are there any new insights how this problem might be solved?

Sorry everyone - somehow never noticed this bug report. I have absolutely no idea, why this bug was assigned to me.

Is there anything happening to get this fixed? I've been getting blocked
packages for over 2 months now and I don't know how to fix it except for
uninstalling them. It would be really, really nice to get rid of this problem.

Bump severity to major. This problem is keeping me from properly updating
several packages.

text guys are more likely to say anything sensible reharding this issue.

So, um, text guys. Is there anything you can do to help me get rid of this
problem?

------- Comment #10 From Peter Simons 2005-03-23 07:52:23 0000 -------
It would be sooo nice if this problem were fixed within the next two or three
months ...
