Description:   Opened: 2004-08-23 02:24 0000 
MozillaFirebird 0.9.3 tries to open two window when a link is send to it (which
is a confirmed bug in Firefox 0.9.3 Linux/XP) and until the "Select Profile"
windows has come up (becouse of the window number two tries to use a profile it
can't open) and been closed Gaim is blocked. 
It is the same for both "Open new tab" and "Open new window".

Even trough it is a bug in Mozilla showing this strange behavior I think that
Gaim should send the process to standalone and not being blocked until the
webreader has been fully loaded (which can on a for the moment over-loaded
system take some time while you maybe want to send an answer to somebody right
away).

A workaournd is changeing "Webbrowser" to "Manual" and set it to "firefox %s &"
(observe the &) but it would be nice to have that integrated into gaim as it
would be nice to open into a new tab (I have not had time to find the
prompt-command for that yet).

Not seeing this.  You should choose firefox as the browser and "Browser
Default" as the Open Link In option.  Then it should obey your "new type"
preference.  See Bug 47942.

Sorry but this bug is NOT a dup of bug 47942. That bug simply complains over
that Firefox behaves like it does when it get a link from Gaim (i.e. opens two
windows, only one containing the link beeing sent, which is A CONFIRMED BUG IN
AT LEAST FIREFOX 0.9.3, BOTH LINUX AND WINDOWS VERSION).


THIS bug is about if you choose to have the adress opended inte A NEW TAB (And
nothing else, the browser default is NEW WINDOW!!!). If you try this whith
firefox Gaim HANGS until you press Exit in the "Firefox - Select User Profile"
window that always comes up with Firefox 0.9.3, due to the bug mentioned above.
