We (AS25074 / MESH-Solutions GmbH) would like to announce plans to host yet another full Gentoo mirror in Germany. Currently we are in the process of setting up a dedicated machine for mirroring purposes. Among other projects we will be offering a "full" gentoo mirror. Avaliable diskspace for this purpose is about 80-100 GB. Specs for the server: 7 x 200 GB IDE Harddisk 8-port 3ware raid-controller 4HU Case 450Watt Enermax Powersupply I understand from the documentary (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml) that syncing the files is done by rsync. However is there any preference from Gentoo about the way we serve the files? Any recommendations or hints would be welcome. We expect the Server to be up and runnin within the next 30 days, possibly sooner. Maybe someone from infra can give me a hand with this. we are now syncing every 6 hours with www.ibiblio.org::gentoo via rsync. hostname for the gentoo part of the mirror has been defined as ftp.gentoo.mesh-solutions.com ... This concludes the setup from our side, the server is in place and running as planned. Cheers Alex
