Description David Ripton 2004-07-26 07:00:11 UTC
With esearch-0.6.3, Python 2.3.4

eupdatedb returns the following output:

# eupdatedb
 * indexing: 0 ebuilds to go
 * esearch-index generated in 1 minute(s) and 7 second(s)
 * indexed 7333 ebuilds
 * size of esearch-index:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/eupdatedb", line 222, in ?
    print green(" *"), "size of esearch-index:", bold(str(int(stat(esearchdbfile + "c")[6]/1024)) + " kB")
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/cache/edb//esearchdb.pyc'

I see esearchdb.py in /var/cache/edb, but no corresponding .pyc file.

The problem persisted after an unmerge / remerge cycle. Manually removing esearchdb.py didn't help either.
Comment 1 David Ripton 2004-07-26 07:02:00 UTC
I don't see this problem with the stable 0.6.2 version of esearch.

0.6.3 works here.

Comment 3 David Ripton 2004-07-27 05:43:10 UTC
Doesn't work here. My "emerge info" follows. ("Unknown CPU Type" means it's a mobile Athlon XP chip on a desktop board whose BIOS hasn't heard of the mobile chips.)

Comment 6 David Peter 2004-09-15 03:34:15 UTC
This problem will (hopefully :-)) be fixed in esearch-0.7

Thanks,
David
Comment 7 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-04 16:33:35 UTC
supposed to be fixed in 0.7 which is in CVS
