Please check the snapshot. The problem probably started after I emerged KDE 3.2.2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I'm also having this problem. I'm also using KDE 3.2.2. If it makes a difference, I'm using X.org's X11R6.7 instead of the standard XFree86.
Ok, this thread http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=175229 has a possible solution for those using xorg-x11.
I'll let the X folks decide if they want to put in those symlinks in the X ebuild, but I'm not sure what we can do about this from a KDE side.
X herd, KDE 3.4 takes the xorg rules into account, but still relies on /usr/X11R6. I opened http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105216
I've added the upstream URL. The old URL is now down so I won't post it here, but it doesn't really matter. I will also drop that forum URL upstream so that they can see the issue, since not much action seems to have been taken as of yet.
Changing resolution.
Considering fixed for Xorg Modular and KDE 3.5.0 as the first uses /usr/share/X11 and that is checked now.
