I'm having the same problem. I'm guessing this ebuild doesn't compile against Asterisk 1.6 versions. I spoke with the author and he insists it works with 1.6 so I believe we're just missing some patches for the ebuild.
Created attachment 214364 [details, diff] patch for asterisk 1.6.x I found this patch on the Internet. You have to patch and compile Asterisk. I was able to compile successfully for asterisk-1.6.1.12.
Thank you for the research Cory. Let me try the patch you found on 1.6.2.1; if that works this ebuild can be removed from the tree.
